Kaustav Das Modak is a technology professional with almost nine years of experience in developer relations. He is currently working as a Lead Developer Advocate at Freshworks, where he is responsible for building sustainable developer ecosystems around the company's software products. Kaustav works at the intersection of engineering, product, marketing, and sales, helping technology organizations to improve their developer experience. Kaustav's expertise lies in APIs, intersectionality, open access, developer relations, and the web. He is passionate about building decentralised knowledge systems and has been working on several side projects related to this area. In his current role, he is focused on building tooling around APIs and app development, and improving DevRel practices. Before joining Freshworks, Kaustav worked as a Developer Advocate at DeepSource and Squadcast. At DeepSource, he set up developer relations initiatives to expand the outreach of the company to more developers across the world. At Squadcast, he helped define community tools and processes around laying the foundations of developer relations as a function in the organization. Kaustav holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Jadavpur University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University for Distance Education.
